Moving to the Gulf? Turn Your Indian Resume into a Dubai CV

Plenty of people apply to Gulf jobs with the same resume they used in India and wonder why they hear nothing back. A Dubai CV is a little different. Here’s what to change so yours fits how the Gulf hires.

What’s different about a Gulf CV

• A professional photo is expected. Unlike India’s corporate norm, Gulf CVs, especially for hospitality, usually include a neat headshot.
• Nationality and visa status matter. Recruiters and agencies look for these near the top, add your nationality and current visa status (visit, employment, or “requires sponsorship”).

What to add or change

1. Add a professional photo (top corner), nationality and visa status.
2. Lead with a short profile summarising your strengths and years of experience.
3. Highlight any international, brand or luxury experience.
4. List languages, hospitality and Gulf employers value them.
5. Keep achievements specific: property size, guest ratings, covers per service, upsell results.
